Guido van der Werve (born ) is a Dutch filmmaker and visual artist. Van der Werve was born in Papendrecht, the Netherlands [1] and currently lives and works in Finland and Berlin.

Van der Werve is a visiting professor in a number of institutions like the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, Pratt and Parsons in New York and the UCLA in Los Angeles. In , Van der Werve initiated the Running to Rachmaninoff run. This 55 km run from Manhattan to Rachmaninoff’s grave, has ever since been held annually.

Guido van der Werve was born April 7th, in Papendrecht, the Netherlands. As a child, he learned classical piano. After studying at the Conservatory of Rotterdam, where he studied industrial design, classical archeology and Russian, he enrolled at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in the section "visual arts".

Van der Werve often films his extreme physical exertions, in which he does battle with himself. He runs around his house for twelve hours without stopping, stands on the north pole for 24 hours while the earth revolves beneath his feet, and completes a kilometre triathlon – between the church in Warsaw where Chopin’s heart is buried and his official grave in Paris.
