He was the young star soloist in a band of old pros.

The other saxophonist Danilo sent is Aubra Graves. An astonishing player. Graves doesn't turn up in Tom Lord's Jazz Discography. Instead, he settled in Waco, Texas, in and made his livelihood playing at local jazz clubs and working at music stores as a bookkeeper, in sales and instrument repair. And yet he was a monster player.This is a group for Fans of Aubra Graves.
In regards to Aubra playing, it’s interesting hearing him play more straight ahead jazz – faster stuff – on alto – when so much of what’s on his channel is ballads played on tenor, which I prefer. Check out “jazzsaxtenor” on YouTube if you wanna really hear somebody play the hell out of a ballad.

On Alto I use a BenDavis vocaltone which I've used it since the early 's. It's the only one I use on alto. After listening to the track you mentioned the sound there is a happy convergence of, microphone, distance from microphone, ambience of the room, mood of player, reed happening to be in the zone, developing some small skill using recording techniques with audacity including picking.
